Ken Etberg - Illustrator, Photographer & Fine Artist
Biography
Ken Etberg was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1951.
His career started in the advertising industry, working for De Villiers and Schonfeldt, J. Walter Thompson and BBDO respectively, as an Art Director and Illustrator.
After that he started a design studio with an associate called Corporate Image in 1977, after which he started his own Design Studio in 1979 and that continued for 33 years, with a client base made up of TOTAL petroleum, Anglo mining, Twins Pharmeceuticals, IVECO and ERF Trucks, O-Line, Formscaff, Wesbank, Bidvest Laundry Group, Herrons Kitchens and Bathrooms, Knight Piesold, Herschell Lubricants, Mcmillan, Heinemann, Vivlia and Pearsons publishers.
He has participated widely in group exhibitions and has done numerous private commissions for clients in South Africa and the USA.
From 2012, he went on to do photography and design work for clients in America, Canada, Singapore and locally. He is at present concentrating on his fine art, doing portraiture, landscapes and seascapes and illustrating racing cars which he’s passionate about. His first car illustration was an Alfa Spider in 1974.
His preferred medium is pastel, followed by oils.
He enjoys music and collecting the work of other artists. He lives in Uvongo, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
