Cars Are My Life
I have always had a passion for motorsport and cars, and my road to illustrating them began with attending races, taking pictures and creating a reference library. I then joined like-minded friends for sharing stories about cars and drivers, and watching races. My interest and focus on logos and badges became a prominent feature in my work. Now I specialise in creating unique and detailed illustrations of cars, allowing people to commission me for an everlasting memory of their car.
Above is an indication of the size I normally work to in pastel. Pastel is the one medium that will not fade as it is pure pigment. All pastel work has to be framed behind glass.

Photographs taken for reference to illustrate from for a Motorsport illustration take a lot of time and effort. I visit motor racing venues, car shows and museums to capture the perfect shot. I take my time to ensure that the cars look realistic and I also look for interesting backgrounds to create more interest. Experiencing the atmosphere of the pits and watching drivers and mechanics around their cars has been some of my most rewarding moments. I use these photographs as reference to create my Motorsport illustrations.
